You know, it’s too bad I feel the need to limit myself to just what’s happened today- there’s all sorts of awesome blessings I discovered throughout the week… but I forgot to post! Ack! But, at least I can tell you that I happily lost another 5 lbs. without doing anything, and that I got wedding chocolate from the girl who runs the deli down the street that I go to lunch at every day, because she got married over Thanksgiving
These things make me happy. But… let’s get back to today!
1. I have been blessed today by the absence of my coworkers…. oh, that sounds bad. I don’t mean it like that. What I mean is that it’s extremely quiet today in the office, and it makes me more productive (and a little less worried about being *less* productive). This happened because everyone’s doctor agreed to take them in on the same day or something
2. Our boss implemented a weekly report, which has been a great way for me to quantify what I’m doing for the company, and sort of toot my own horn, so to speak. It’s good to have down in writing what my accomplishments have been for the week- it really raises my satisfaction level at work. This happened because my boss is an excellent manager, and is managing for results, rather than … looking over our shoulders all the time.
3. One of our friends is having a party tonight, and while I have no idea whether it will be a blessing to me or not (I suspect so), I do know that it will be a giant blessing to my rideshare companion, who very clearly craves companionship, but lacks a number of necessary social skills. I invited him, and our friend encouraged me to invite him, and even if I’m uncomfortable around him, I am glad that I can be helpful to him by simply helping him make connections, I guess.
Way to go being otherly with the rideshare companion.
